About MBA Compass
MBA Compass is an independent comparison guide for prospective online MBA students. We bring together accredited online MBA programs from across the United States — 142 programs in 49 states — and present them side by side: real tuition, GMAT and GPA requirements, program length, accreditation, specializations, and whether international students are welcome. The goal is simple: let you compare programs on the facts, in one place, without a sales pitch.
How we choose and compare programs
We compile programs from publicly available sources, including the schools' own official websites, U.S. News & World Report, Poets&Quants, and the AACSB member directory. For each state we list the leading accredited online MBA options — typically the top three, and fewer where a state genuinely has fewer accredited online programs. We would rather show one real program than pad a list with filler.
For every program we record the same data points so they can be compared fairly, and we link directly to the school's official MBA page so you can verify everything at the source.
Editorial independence
Schools cannot pay to be listed, and they cannot pay to rank higher. Our rankings and ordering are based on accreditation, reputation, and availability — never on advertising relationships. Display ads on the Site are clearly delineated and kept separate from our program data and recommendations.
How we make money
MBA Compass is supported by two things: display advertising (for example, Google AdSense), and a small number of affiliate links — mainly to student-loan lenders on our financing pages. If you click an affiliate link and later sign up, we may earn a referral commission at no additional cost to you. This never changes the rate you're offered and never influences how we order or describe programs. See our Privacy Policy and Terms of Service for the full detail.
Accuracy and corrections
Tuition, admissions requirements, deadlines, and rankings change often. We work to keep the data current, but you should always confirm details directly with the school before applying. If you spot something that's out of date or incorrect — or you know of an accredited online MBA we've missed (we're currently looking for a program to cover Rhode Island) — please tell us. We review every correction.
